Time8:50
Duration 1½–2 hours, depending on queues.

As you approach the Lower Cableway Station, enjoy views of the City Bowl and harbour, with Table Mountain's cliffs towering above. Your guide assists with boarding. Standard tickets require waiting in line, which can be long on busy days. Fast Track tickets minimize wait time. Restrooms and refreshments are available before the ascent. Step into the round, enclosed cable car for an approximately five-minute ride. Its floor slowly rotates through 360 degrees, revealing the mountainside, Lion’s Head, city and Atlantic coastline as you climb. At the summit, explore a rocky plateau dotted with fynbos. Follow marked paths between viewpoints overlooking Table Bay, Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles, with your guide suggesting a walk suited to your pace. Leaving Hout Bay, follow the 114 bends of Chapman’s Peak Drive, with steep rock faces above and the Atlantic Ocean dropping off below. As the harbour slips from view, the road reveals another stretch of the Cape Peninsula coastline and Sentinel Peak. Pause at a premier cliffside viewpoint for photographs before continuing past Noordhoek’s long white beach towards the southern Peninsula. If wind or maintenance closes the pass, your local guide instantly redirects the vehicle through an equally beautiful mountain bypass route to keep your day strictly on schedule.
